Need Invisalign clear aligners near Claremont? Renov Dental Group, on N Indian Hill Blvd just north of the Claremont Village, straightens teeth with removable, nearly invisible aligners planned digitally from day one. Care is led by UCLA-trained Dr. Sally Yi, DDS, the office accepts most major PPO insurance plans, and it is known for gentle care for anxious patients.
We evaluate candidacy honestly: a digital scan shows a projected result before you commit, and if another approach would serve you better, Dr. Yi will say so.
Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable trays instead of brackets and wires. A 3D scan becomes a digital plan that breaks the movement into small stages, and each custom tray, changed roughly every one to two weeks, nudges the teeth toward the next. Small tooth-colored attachments are often bonded to certain teeth for grip on harder movements, and a little enamel may be smoothed between teeth (interproximal reduction, or IPR) to create room.
It is most often chosen by adults and teens correcting crowding, gaps and relapse after childhood braces, where discreet appearance during treatment matters.
Invisalign works best for mild-to-moderate crowding, spacing, and certain bite issues, confirmed by a digital scan first. On its own, it is generally not the right tool for severe crowding or significantly rotated teeth (especially canines and premolars), a significant overbite, underbite, crossbite or open bite involving the jaw, skeletal jaw-growth discrepancies, cases likely to need extraction for space, or patients who can't reliably wear a removable appliance most of the day.
Many such cases can still be improved with a combined plan or traditional orthodontics (see Alternatives below), determined at your consultation rather than assumed in advance.
A digital scan
— no goopy impressions — with an honest candidacy assessment and a preview of the projected result before you commit.
Your custom aligner series is fabricated
, with attachments and any IPR planned in.
Wear each tray 20–22 hours daily
, removing it only to eat, drink anything but water, and clean your teeth.
Brief progress checks every 6–8 weeks
; a tray that isn't fitting may signal missed wear.
Retainers are fitted
once the planned position is reached, to lock in the result.
Remove trays to eat or drink anything but water — food and most drinks stain or warp them, and eating with trays in traps sugars against your teeth — and brush before re-inserting. Mild pressure with each new tray is normal and eases within a few days. Clean trays and retainers with a soft brush and cool water, since hot water can warp them.
If Invisalign isn't the right fit, options include traditional metal or ceramic braces (better control for complex rotations, bite correction and extraction cases), a referral for combined orthodontic-surgical care in complex jaw cases, or cosmetic bonding or porcelain veneers for purely cosmetic gaps and minor unevenness. Many patients also add teeth whitening once alignment is complete, or use Invisalign as one stage within a broader cosmetic dentistry plan.
Minor corrections often finish in around 6 months; comprehensive cases commonly run 12–18 months, and complex movement can extend to 18–24 months or longer. The biggest factors are case complexity, how consistently trays are worn, whether refinement trays are needed, and whether attachments or IPR are involved. We provide a specific estimate only after your scan and exam.
Coverage varies by plan. Some PPO plans include an orthodontic benefit that applies to clear aligners; Renov Dental Group accepts most major PPO plans and verifies yours before treatment, with Cherry monthly financing available for qualified patients on the remainder.
A. Yes — you take the trays out to eat and to drink anything but water, then brush before putting them back in. That freedom is a main reason patients choose aligners, but it also means the trays only work while they're actually in.
A. Most mild-to-moderate crowding, spacing and some bite issues respond well. Severe rotations, significant bite or jaw-skeletal problems, and extraction cases are usually better served by traditional braces or a combined approach — your scan and exam confirm which applies to you.
A. Wear time — 20 to 22 hours a day — is the biggest factor in whether treatment finishes on schedule. Wearing trays less than that slows movement, can stop a tray from fitting, and often means added refinement trays and a longer treatment.
A. No wires to poke or tightening appointments — just a day or two of mild pressure with each new tray. Length depends on your case: simple corrections about six months, comprehensive cases twelve to eighteen, and complex movement eighteen to twenty-four months or longer.
A. Yes — retainers are a required final phase, since teeth can shift within months without consistent wear. Some PPO plans include an orthodontic benefit that applies to clear aligners; we verify yours before treatment, and Cherry
